Pallets of 162 boxes are assembled and dispatched to wholesalers in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide. Today 256 boxes were sent to the Netherlands – the first export for the season. A shipment will head for Vancouver later this week! Last year Achacha made its way into Harrods, London.
Gradually Achachas will find their way into Coles and Woolworths stores stores near you. The best way to spread the fruit around is to ask your local fruit shop if they have it – if not tell them about it and encourage them to buy some from the wholesale market. When wanting to purchase Achachas from the Wholesale Market, RMQ’s Manager Francesca Laspina is the person to talk to!
It has been hard not to notice Dragon Fruits popularity recently.
First, noticed by RMQs Marketing team on Lorna Janes Website and Instagram posts, then several articles were brought to our attention by family and friends such as Super Foods, on ‘news.com.au’. There article states that:

RMQ’s Director Raymond Laspina, Business Manager Francesca Laspina and Marketing and Communications Co-coordinator Brittany Laspina all attended the Asia Fruit Logistica Congress held in Hong Kong last week. The congress was very insightful with speeches from Industry Professionals, covering issues of pricing, popularity, seasonality and future predictions for the global market. There was also many opportunities for all attendees to gain customers and business exposure, RMQ have taken several opportunities away from the congress making us eager to go back next year and follow up our new trading accomplishments.

THE Rocklea Markets will unveil its museum later this year, focusing on the culture and colourful characters of the iconic site. Southern Star reporter Angela Ranke visited the markets to meet some of the workers. Standing in the thick of it all is market stalwart Dario Vescovi who has been selling at the site for 44 years. He says he absolutely loves the markets. ‘‘People say when are you going to give it away and I say ‘probably when I die’.’’
